1930 Model "A" Highboy Nostalgia Roadster Project

For photos of the project please click here!

Objectives:

1. Build a 1940’ s Period "Hot Rod" utilizing authentic period parts and building techniques.

2. Duplicate the era when " Real" Hot Rods were built on a budget, and used as everyday drivers.
In a way, these cars were not only self-expressions of the owner/builder,
but resulted in an "art form" definitely worthy of preservation.

3. Utilize as many spare vintage parts as possible to replicate the concept of building
on a budget, and utilizing "junkyard" available parts .

Input:

Recognizing that there is "no fine car before its time", there is time to get some input on
the specifications in order to insure the final project plan and execution is complete,
although there has been a challenge to complete this car in mid-summer 2000.

Lets have some fun looking over the specs , and watching the completion on www.hotrodalley.com
How ironic to use current technology to follow the build of a 1940’s replica.

Please look over the specifications, and e-mail your suggestions.
As this car is being built, you’ll see what has been decided on, as well as your comments.
The project will be digitally captured on the website as it progresses.

Thanks for your input, and I hope this has provided some humble entertainment

Because there are no fenders, the car will have wind wings with “the garage” logo etched into the glass.
(This should keep some amount of tire spray out of the passenger compartment)

“The Garage” painted on lower portions of the hood top on each side as seen in vintage speed trial pictures.
